DEFEND OUR DEMOCRACY FOR THE PEOPLE

Over the past several months, substantial evidence has come to light showing President Trump, his administration, and others connected to him extorted a foreign government for political gain – a clear abuse of power, betrayal of our national security, and corruption of our elections. The months-long pressure campaign has been followed by a concerted effort to cover it up and obstruct Congressional investigations.

When I spoke about the impeachment resolution in the Rules Committee, I noted that the scope of this impeachment investigation is very different than anything we’ve ever seen before and should be taken seriously. I was glad the full House of Representatives voted to authorize the next phase of the impeachment inquiry and I supported the resolution because it’s important to help ensure no one is above the law.

Public hearings will start this week
, allowing all Americans to see firsthand the testimony and facts that lay bare in this case. Full transcripts of key witnesses have already been released which I encourage everyone to read.

EVENTS

While I was home during the District Work Period, my office hosted several events to provide resources and hear from constituents. Thank you to everyone who attended these events, and I hope to see many of you at our District Office Open House on December 7th. Visit my website to see a complete list of upcoming events.

GOOD NEWS REPORT

I always say “’Tis a privilege to represent the people of the 7th Congressional District and Colorado.” Here’s why:

The House recently passed the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy Act, preserving 400,000 of public lands in Colorado. This is a great milestone and I congratulate my friend and colleague, Rep. Joe Neguse for championing this bill.

Colorado is home to some of the most beautiful state parks in the nation, and nobody understands this more than Lakewood resident Robert Aaronson, who has visited 41 of Colorado’s 42 open state parks in just over a year - one of only six people to complete the Colorado Parks and Wildlife passport program.

Westminster’s Maxar Technologies just delivered a robotic arm to NASA that’s headed to Mars next year. Congrats!

Congratulations to Jina Bradford from Northglenn STEM Lab who received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations to Hilary Wimmer from Mountain Range High School who was named Colorado’s 2020 Teacher of the Year.

Westminster Public School’s superintendent Pamela Swanson
has been picked as the 2020 Superintendent of the Year by the Colorado Association of School Executives. Congrats!

There are so many exciting things happening in the 7th District. Look for our next newsletter for more highlights in your neighborhood.
