Employers added 178,000 jobs last month, bringing the unemployment rate to a nine-year low of 4.6%. Average hourly earnings for private-sector employees have increased at an annual rate of 2.7 percent in 2016, and businesses have added 15.6 million jobs over the last 81 months.
WESTMINSTER HIGH SCHOOL’S MEDIC! SUBMITTED TO THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS
This week, Westminster High School formally submitted their Veterans History Project Film, MEDIC!, to the Library of Congress. MEDIC! highlights the stories of five brave veterans who served their country and their fellow veterans as combat medics. A big thanks to the faculty and students of Westminster High School and to the Veterans History Project for helping to preserve and share our local veterans’ stories.
NORTHGLENN, ARVADA HIGH SCHOOLS COMPETE IN CONGRESSIoNAL APP CHALLENGE
I am very proud of the 32 students from Arvada and Northglenn High Schools who participated in the House of Representatives STEM App Challenge. Participants created smartphone applications that ranged from helping students find their new lockers to exploring fashion to virtual reality tours of Northglenn. Congrats to Caleb Dudley, Jacob Johns, Thomas Kopala and Joseph Lovato for winning the contest with their virtual reality app!
