How we can improve politics
Voting is a statement about what we believe and where we want to go as a country. It is deeply ingrained in our national identity, yet our democracy is only as strong as those who are willing to participate. We need to rebuild trust in the system, and help more Americans have a voice in our government. Here’s how we do it:

1. Overturn Citizens United. Ever since this Supreme Court decision, campaigns and elections have been overrun by corporate interests. It is time we clean up the system. I support a Constitutional Amendment empowering the Congress to regulate and set reasonable limits on the raising and spending of money by candidates and others to influence elections.

2. No more “Dark Money”. Voters should have the right to know who is behind super-PAC advertising the same way they have a right to know who is giving money to candidates.

3. Restore the Voting Rights Act. More than a dozen states have enacted voter restrictions, disproportionally affecting minority, youth and older voters. We should make voting convenient and easy for all citizens to cast a ballot.
Helping a small business serve veterans
Whether you lost important documents, have not received a response from the federal government or need help with benefits or resources, my office regularly helps constituents navigate federal government agencies. I'm proud my office was able to help Arvada Eye Care work out a billing issue with the VA.
"We at Arvada Eye Care are so grateful to Kathryn at Congressman Ed Perlmutter's office who, on our behalf, navigated the complex Veteran's Choice program to make sure we were getting paid to care for our honored and deserving veterans.  Without her help, we would not have been able to continue seeing these very important patients."
