U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is proud to announce that the Colorado School of Mines has been awarded a $100,000 Grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for its Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) program. GNEP seeks to develop worldwide consensus on enabling expanded use of economical, carbon-free nuclear energy to meet growing electricity demand. Colorado School of Mines will use the grant from DOE to fund its Fission Fragment Distribution Detector Development for a research and education program.
Congressman Ed Perlmutter stated “I am in full support of the Department of Energy’s decision to award the Colorado School of Mines this grant to fund important research in nuclear energy. It is this type of research that can lead to future developments and help make nuclear power the safest energy source it can be.”
