"Comprehensive immigration reform will help us build new businesses, new jobs and a more secure economy in America"

Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement praising the U.S. Senate for their bipartisan vote in favor of comprehensive immigration reform:

"The Senate showed strong bipartisan leadership today by passing comprehensive immigration reform by a vote of 68-32. Their vote today was historic and long overdue.  I urge leadership in the House to act quickly and allow a vote on comprehensive immigration reform bill. 

We need a responsible and compassionate plan that strengthens our border and ensures those who are working hard, paying taxes, getting an education, learning English and not committing felonies or violent crimes have a path to become citizens of our country and achieve their American Dream. Comprehensive immigration reform will help us build new businesses, new jobs and a more stable economy in America."
