Funds will support North Metro Task Force

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is pleased to announce Commerce City has been awarded the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) and will receive $27,812 from the United States Department of Justice.

Commerce City will receive the JAG as part of the Department of Justice’s ongoing effort to provide assistance to local law enforcement agencies. The JAG will be used to fund the North Metro Task Force, which aims to identify and impact the sale of illegal drugs as well as halting youth violence involving organized gangs.

Congressman Ed Perlmutter stated “I am in full support of the Department of Justice’s funding of local law enforcement agencies. This Justice Assistance Grant will help support the important work that the North Metro Task Force does for our communities. Preventing illegal drug sales and youth gang related violence will help to make our neighborhoods more secure.”
