"Promoting renewable energy is good for jobs and our economic and national security"

Today, Rep. Ed Perlmutter released the following statement in response to a new study by the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business. The study showed the overall economic impact of NREL to be approximately $831 million in fiscal year 2011 and the jobs impact to be 6,200 for Colorado.  Click here for more information on the study.

"The important research taking place at NREL continues to have a huge impact on Colorado's economy.  Not only does NREL act as a job creator but it is the world's leading renewable energy research lab.  My number one priority is to get people back to work here in the 7th District and our state, it’s the best thing we can do to move forward toward economic stability. This study reinforces the direct impact NREL has in building good paying, private sector jobs here in our community.  Promoting renewable energy is good for jobs and our economic and national security."
