Perlmutter Statement on the Passing of Rep. John Murtha

Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) issued the following statement on Rep. John Murtha’s (PA-12) passing:

“Rep. Murtha served his country with distinction on the battlefield in as a Marine Corps officer and in Congress representing Western Pennsylvania since 1974.  He was the first combat veteran of the Vietnam War elected to Congress where he fought tirelessly in support of our troops.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.  His leadership and spirit will be missed in Congress,” stated Perlmutter.
