In honor of Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, 2007, Congressman Ed Perlmutter made the following statement:
“This Sunday, April 22, we have the opportunity to take time out of our busy schedules and reflect upon the wonders of our physical surroundings.
Earth Day is a time when we can recognize our responsibility to provide for the health of our environment. Our Earth is a precious resource that belongs to all of us, our friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren. We must protect this resource and take steps to reduce harmful emissions, create alternative sources of renewable energy and reduce our dependence on oil.
Here in Colorado , we have so many opportunities to enjoy the natural bounty of our planet. I encourage everyone to spend time outdoors on this beautiful Spring Colorado Sunday and savor the beauty of our state and our World.”
