Congressman Ed Perlmutter will host a forum on veterans’ issues on April 12, 2007 at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center – Anschutz Medical Campus (formerly Fitzsimons), from 10 a.m. to noon.
The forum will be an opportunity for Congressman Perlmutter and representatives from the rest of Colorado’s Congressional delegation, as well as Veterans’ Administration officials, to learn about issues our veterans face as they transition from active duty status.
The Colorado Veterans’ Administration recently announced the purchase of the majority of land it will need to begin construction of the new medical facility located on the Fitzsimons campus.
“As we move forward on this project, it is important to highlight the kinds of medical and health care issues that our veterans are facing,” states Perlmutter. “In light of recent events at Walter Reed hospital, this dialogue is critical to ensuring our veterans receive the highest quality medical care in this new facility.”
Additionally, panelists and Congressional delegation representatives will tour the planned site of the new Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) immediately following the panel sessions.
