Congressman Ed Perlmutter will hold his first Town Hall meeting on Thursday evening, February 22, 2007 at the Aurora Municipal Center in conjunction with Aurora City Councilman, Larry Beer’s, Ward III meeting.
During this first town hall meeting, the Congressman will take the opportunity to update constituents on the first two months in Congress, the first 100 hours legislation passed by the House and the debate and votes concerning the Iraq war. The Congressman will also preview upcoming issues that the House will be considering in the next few months. Additionally, constituents will have the opportunity to engage in a question and answer session with the Congressman to discuss issues that are on their mind.
“As part of our efforts to be the most responsive Congressional office we can be, we are hosting a town hall meeting early in order to hear from our constituents about the issues and concerns impacting their lives,” said Perlmutter. “I look forward to visiting with all of my constituents at regular town halls and Government at the Grocery programs throughout the district this year.”
Town hall meetings will be held quarterly around the district. The tentative schedule is: February 22, 2007 in Aurora; June 2, 2007 in Adams County; August 25, 2007 in Jefferson County; and November 10, 2007 in Adams County. In addition to regular town hall meetings, the Congressman and his staff will be hosting regular “office hours” as part of their Government at the Grocery program around the district.
