Rep. Perlmutter Announces Jefferson County Transportation Funding Projects Included in H.R. 1

Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement about the transportation projects within Jefferson County to be funded through H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - Highway Projects.

“With this funding we can finally turn dirt on long awaited infrastructure plans in Jefferson County . These transit projects will improve our roads, help repair our aging infrastructure and create jobs. All of these projects in Jefferson County are ready to go. It will help our state and country get back on track by improving our roads and creating good paying jobs.”

Jefferson County infrastructure projects include the following:

* Rehabilitation on the C-470 Bike Path in Douglas and Jefferson Counties between I-70 and I-25 / $7 million.
* Replacement of traffic signals in two locations at US 6, State Highway 93, State Highway 58 and State Highway 128 at Simms / $1million.
* Resurfacing approximately three miles of I-70 in asphalt between Kipling and Wadsworth Boulevard/ $1.8 million.
* Resurfacing approximately three miles of US 40 in asphalt on US 40 between Kipling and Sheridan / $4.7 million.
