U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is proud to announce the U.S. Dept. of Transportation has awarded a $74.2 million dollar grant for the West Corridor Light Rail project. The West Corridor will be a 12.1-mile light rail transit corridor between Union Station in downtown Denver and the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden, serving Denver, Lakewood, the Denver Federal Center , Golden and Jefferson County .

“This funding is essential to keeping this light rail project on track and moving forward. Completion of the West Corridor project will give employees of the Denver Federal Center and metro area commuters an affordable, quick and environmentally friendly alternative to driving. Investing in mass transit will help bring jobs to Colorado, promotes smart growth and will help propel Colorado ’s infrastructure into the 21st century,” stated Perlmutter.
