This week, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) was selected by his colleagues to serve as a Regional Whip for the House Democratic Caucus’ Region V. Region V includes members from Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. This position moves Perlmutter into a House Democratic leadership position.

As a Regional Whip, Perlmutter will be responsible for counting votes among the members in the region and educating them about specific legislation.

"I am honored to be chosen by my peers to serve in this leadership role," said Perlmutter. "We have incredible opportunities to change the direction of this country, and I look forward to working hard to help pass legislation to stabilize our economy, ease the squeeze on the hard working people in this country and ensure the safety and security of our nation."
