World War II veteran honored with medals
Tonville native and long time Brighton area resident George J. Seader, Jr. was honored at the Elks Club on his 100th birthday, June 30, for his service during World War II. At the party, he was cited by U.S. Representative Ed Perlmutter for his time in the Army Air Corps “Mighty 8th” unit that is said to have been essential to the victory in Europe. Perlmutter later awarded Seader with three medals for his service and a U.S. flag that had been flown over the US Capitol building on George’s birthday.
