Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement after voting against the Republican majority’s Continuing Resolution:

“Today we find ourselves in the same spot we were in four weeks ago, and in another month when this fourth CR is set to expire, we will likely be in a similar situation. This is no way to govern. In order to reach a real solution that will fund our government and address some of these pressing issues, we must work together. I stand ready and waiting.

“I will continue to evaluate each government spending bill but my priorities remain the same: long-term reauthorization for CHIP and CHCs, a permanent solution for Dreamers, equal spending increases for both defense and non-defense priorities, and a prohibition of federal funds to prosecute legitimate marijuana businesses. Beyond these items, there is more work we need to do for hardworking folks in Colorado and across the country. It’s time Republican leaders in Congress govern responsibly and get to work for all Americans.”
