Today, U.S. Rep Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is proud to announce Arvada resident and Arvada West High School Senior, Mathew McIntyre was awarded an appointment to the Unites States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the fall of 2008. His parents are Sheryl and Charles Blish III of Arvada. He is the first student to be awarded a Naval Academy appointment from the 7th Congressional District by Rep. Perlmutter.

“I am very proud the Naval Academy chose Mathew to be a Cadet for this fall. His academic, athletic and extra-curricular accomplishments all combined to make him a strong candidate. I have no doubt he will succeed at the academy. With young men like Mathew attending our prestigious service academies our nation will continue to have a new generation of leaders,” stated Perlmutter.
