U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is proud to announce the CD 7 nominations to our nation’s distinguished service academies. On Saturday, Oct. 20, Rep. Perlmutter’s Merit Selection Committee conducted interviews of prospective cadets to the Air Force, Naval, Military and Merchant Marine Academies. The following candidates were nominated to the four service academies (several individuals have been nominated to multiple academies):

Air Force Academy:
Tim Janke, Susan Kicker, William Wolcott, Taylor Roberts, Rodney Skinner, Vincent Capra, Shawn Walsh, Reuben Smith, Jeremy Allison, Michael Nelson

Naval Academy:
Sean McCasland, Matthew McIntyre, Taylor Roberts, Rodney Skinner, Sean Walsh, Kaitlin Goodall, Reuben Smith, Peter Nguyen, Joe Baggett, Jasmine Sapp

Military Academy:
Nathan Safford, Kaitlin Goodall, Sarah Smith, Tim Janke, Susan Kicker, William Wolcott, Sean McCasland, Vincent Capra, William Miller, Joe Baggett

Merchant Marine Academy:
William Miller, Preston Nicholl, Andrew Barela, Sarah Smith, Mitchell Edwards, Jacob Henthorn, Susan Kicker, Matthew McIntyre, Shawn Walsh, Peter Nguyen

"These students are the finest the 7th CD has to offer. I am so impressed with their academic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments. These talented young men and women are the future leaders of our great nation. It is a privilege and an honor to recommend them to our nation’s prestigious military service academies," stated Perlmutter.

Each service academy (Air Force, Navy, Army and Merchant Marine) will select one of Congressman Perlmutter’s nominations for the Fall 2008 Semester. There are other criteria the academies utilize, such as athletic scholarships, if their parents were Medal of Honor recipients or if their parents were 100% disabled in their military service.
