Today, U.S. Rep Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) is proud to announce that Aurora resident and Rangeview High School Senior, Jacob Henthorn has been awarded an appointment to the Unites States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY for summer of 2008. His parents are Christine and Duke Henthorn also of Aurora. He is the second student to be awarded a Merchant Marine Academy appointment from the 7th Congressional District by Rep. Perlmutter.

"I am very proud that the Merchant Marine Academy chose Jacob to attend next summer. His academic, athletic and extra-curricular accomplishments all combined to make him a strong candidate. I have no doubt that he will succeed at the academy. With young men like Jacob attending the Merchant Marine Academy our nation will continue to have a new generation of leaders on our oceans and waterways," stated Perlmutter.
