In the wake of the economic stimulus package recently passed by Congress, Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) will host free tax filing assistance workshops on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
The events will be held in Aurora and Lakewood and are geared to families, seniors, veterans and their beneficiaries, and low-income earners who may need special assistance filing their taxes and applying for their rebate this year.
Volunteers from VITA, the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, will prepare and file returns for constituents. Additionally, IRS taxpayer advocates will also be on hand to assist constituents with their tax needs.
Below is more information about the events. Editors, please post to community calendars and any event announcement boards. If you have more questions or need follow up, please contact Leslie Oliver. Congressman Perlmutter is scheduled to be at both workshops on Saturday.
