Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) voted against the GOP budget reconciliation which would add $10 trillion to the debt over the next ten years and begins the process to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Perlmutter issued the following statement:
"This budget is irresponsible and hurts hard working people in Colorado and across the nation. Under President Obama, we cut the federal deficit in half and made responsible budgeting decisions. This Republican budget explodes the debt to the tune of $10 trillion and undermines affordable healthcare, Social Security and Medicare."
"Unfortunately, this is the first step in the Republican's plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no plan to replace it. Coloradans and Americans deserve better."
