Alliance Data opens second customer support center in WestminsterContent originally published by The Denver Business Journal on May 5th, 2016. Alliance Data officials formally opened the company's second customer service center in Westminster on Thursday and the company’s president said there may be plans for a third center. “We intend to double the size of our business by 2020,” said Melisa Miller, president of Alliance Data, which does about $2.5 billion in annual revenue. “And there would be nothing more energizing than celebrating a third building. So perhaps we should pledge today that is something we would want to do here together.” Columbus, Ohio-based Alliance Data (NYSE:ADS) card service business – which provides custom credit card and marketing services for major store brands – celebrated the opening of a 52,500-square-foot center in Westminster Thursday. With the expansion, the company now has 117,000 square-feet of office space, at 122nd Avenue. The company first opened its Colorado facility in 1997 in Northglenn and moved to Westminster in 2002. “We had choices with respect to where we could expand our facility,” Miller said. “And this was the easiest choice we had to make. The quality of associates, the quality of human beings, family, church and community here in Westminster surpasses any other choice we had available to us.” Alliance Data has seven customer centers across the country and employs 6,700 associates. In 2015, the company had $18.5 billion in credit card sales. “We are often described as the No. 1 fastest company that no one has ever heard of,” Miller said. Alliance Data is a marketing and loyalty company that provides credit card services for 150 of the countries most prominent brands, including Victoria’s Secret, Eddie Bauer, Express and New York & Co. “One in 5 women have our credit cards in their wallets,”Miller said. The expansion at the Westminster facility allows the company to grow, saidCindy Zhivotovsky, site manager in Westminster. There are 700 employees there now and about 100 more will begin work in two weeks. And the company is recruiting 50 additional customer service representatives and will host a job fair this month. Westminster Mayor Herb Atchison said he’s been welcoming many companies into his town in recent years including DigitalGlobe, which has 2,000 employees, and Skywriter, which just opened its doors in Westminster three months ago with plans to quadruple the number of employees within a year, Atchison said. He says access to Interstate 25, land and building space availability and the city’s open space and recreation centers are what is attracting companies to expand or relocate to Westminster. U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Golden, toured the new AllianceData facility Thursday. He noted that Colorado is the No. 1 place where 25 to 35-year olds are moving and credited the jobs available at places like Alliance Data. “This part of town has seen a lot of growth,” he said. “A lot of exciting new companies, and a lot growth by current companies, which is almost better.” |
