Thank you, Reps. Ed Perlmutter and Lamar Smith, for championing exploration to Mars. Last month I heard a talk on the New Horizons mission to Pluto. The information and the photos that were received of that dwarf planet and its moons were truly remarkable. Imagine trying to position a spacecraft within a range of 250 miles over a distance of 3 billion miles — and succeeding. Space travel is a reminder of what people can accomplish, and it’s encouraging to see bipartisan support for the program.
