Gives Keynote Speech Commemorating Veterans’ Day

This Veterans’ Day, Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) will give the keynote address commemorating Veterans’ Day during the 5th anniversary celebration at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home at Fitzsimons. During his keynote address, Perlmutter will announce the launch of the 7th Congressional District Veterans’ Oral History Project.

The Veterans’ Oral History Project will be conducted in partnership with the Community College of Aurora and Comcast for the purpose of recording and providing the veterans’ histories to the Library of Congress and to schools within the 7th Congressional District for use in their educational curriculum.

The Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Aurora was constructed five years ago at the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. This Sunday, November 11, the nursing home is hosting an open house commemorating Veterans’ Day and the 5th anniversary of the facility. As part of the celebration, F-16 fighter planes from nearby Buckley Air Force Base, have been invited to do a fly over. Below are details about the event:
