Outcome of Broncos-Packers Game Divides Roommates

October 29, 2007

There is gridlock on Capitol Hill. But this time, it’s not political gridlock. Tonight’s Broncos vs. Packers football game pits roommate against roommate.

U.S. Reps. Ed Perlmutter (Golden) and Steve Kagen, M.D. (Appleton, WI) share a rental house when they are in Washington, DC. But any good will and peace will be left on the sidelines tonight when the Broncos and Packers face off for Monday Night Football and Denver. Perlmutter is a die-hard Broncos fan, while Kagen is devoted to the Packers.

"My staff and I are looking forward to some ‘Miller Time’ when my roommate and esteemed colleague delivers a case of Miller to us after the Broncos win," said Perlmutter. "While I’m confident the Broncos will deliver tonight, if for some reason Green Bay lucks out, Rep. Kagen and his staff will receive a case of Coors."
