Perlmutter Statement on House Republicans' DHS funding bill
U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) issued the following statement about House Republicans' DHS funding bill:
"Despite recent terrorists attacks around the world and increased cyberattacks here at home, House Republicans are placing politics ahead of America’s national security. The Republicans’ Homeland Security funding bill threatens to shut down twenty-two of our country’s most important agencies, such as the Transportation Security Agency (TSA), U.S. Border Patrol, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Furthermore, House Republicans are refusing to even debate comprehensive immigration reform, and by doing so are continuing to tear families apart and hurt local communities and the economy."
